Q.  We’re looking for a gay-friendly destination for a special occasion celebration.  Where can my girlfriend  and I find ourselves close to southeast Australia?

 A.  My recommendations are:

1. The Bluesfest in Byron Bay on Easter Weekend 1-5 April
2. The 2010 Melbourne Food 'n Wine Festival from 12-23 March.  (I will be travelling, eating and drinking there on last weekend of event.)
3. The Adelaide Arts Festival from 26 Feb. through 14 March. (I spent Australia Day in the City of Festivals and got the buzz.)
4. Tasmania’s NW Coast for a walking tour  that takes you to the world’s largest remaining stretch of temperate rainforest – the Tarkine - anytime.
