Quintessential gay sport and girls having fun at Miss WESA
The oldest gay and lesbian sports association in Vancouver, predating even the 1990 Gay Games, is the West End Slo-Pitch Association (WESA), a softball league. Started in 1978, WESA now has 13 teams in two different divisions, competitive and recreational.
They also host the popular Miss WESA pageant and will be sending teams to this year’s Gay Softball World Series in Columbus, Ohio. (The Gay Softball World Series being held in Columbus, from August 16th to 21st. )
